Cancer – Diets

INTRODUCTION: Cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide. Conventional cancer treatments, such as chemotherapy and radiation, can be costly, invasive, and have numerous side effects. As a result, some people turn to natural cancer treatment diets in hopes of treating their cancer. In this document, we will discuss five different natural cancer treatment diets that have been used to treat cancer: the Binzel Nutritional Program, Colonel Joe Diet Procedure/Oxalic Acid, Diana Dyer, Dr. Flavin-Koenig, Dr. Kristine Nolfi/Dr., and Dr. Maude Tresillian Fere’s self-cure.

BINZEL NUTRITIONAL PROGRAM: The Binzel Nutritional Program is a natural cancer treatment diet developed by Dr. John A. Richardson and Dr. William Donald Kelley. This program is based on the idea that cancer is caused by a lack of nutrients and an excess of toxins in the body. The program emphasizes the consumption of a high-nutrient, low-toxin diet, along with supplements such as pancreatic enzymes, vitamins, and minerals. The diet also includes a strict regimen of coffee enemas to detoxify the body. Supporters of the Binzel Nutritional Program claim that it has been successful in treating various types of cancer.

Critics, however, argue that there is no scientific evidence to support the effectiveness of this diet in treating cancer. Moreover, some of the supplements recommended in this program may interact with cancer treatments, potentially reducing their effectiveness or causing harmful side effects. Therefore, it is important to consult with a healthcare provider before beginning any natural cancer treatment diet, including the Binzel Nutritional Program.

COLONEL JOE DIET PROCEDURE/OXALIC ACID: The Colonel Joe Diet Procedure is a natural cancer treatment diet developed by Colonel Joe Hart. This diet focuses on reducing the intake of oxalic acid, a compound found in many plant-based foods, including spinach, rhubarb, and almonds. According to Colonel Hart, oxalic acid can cause cancer and should be avoided by cancer patients. The diet consists primarily of animal-based foods such as meat, fish, and dairy, along with some fruits and vegetables that are low in oxalic acid.

There is no scientific evidence to support the idea that oxalic acid causes cancer, and some research suggests that a diet high in plant-based foods may actually reduce the risk of cancer. Moreover, the Colonel Joe Diet Procedure may be nutritionally inadequate, as it eliminates many plant-based foods that are rich in essential nutrients. Therefore, healthcare providers do not recommend this diet as a treatment for cancer.

DIANA DYER: Diana Dyer is a registered dietitian and cancer survivor who developed a natural cancer treatment diet based on her personal experience with cancer. Her diet emphasizes the consumption of whole plant-based foods, including fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes. It also includes small amounts of lean animal-based foods and healthy fats such as nuts and seeds. The diet is low in processed foods, sugar, and saturated fat.

The Diana Dyer diet is similar to the Mediterranean diet, which has been shown to reduce the risk of various types of cancer. Some studies also suggest that a diet high in plant-based foods may be beneficial for cancer patients, as it can help reduce inflammation, support immune function, and provide essential nutrients. However, it is important to note that the Diana Dyer diet is not a substitute for conventional cancer treatment and should be used in conjunction with medical treatment.

DR FLAVIN-KOENIG: Dr. Flavin-Koenig is a naturopathic doctor who developed a natural cancer treatment diet that focuses on alkalizing the body. The theory behind this diet is that cancer cells thrive in an acidic environment and that consuming alkaline foods can help prevent and treat cancer. The diet emphasizes the consumption of fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and legumes, while limiting animal-based foods, dairy, sugar, and processed foods.

While some research suggests that an alkaline diet may have some health benefits, there is no evidence to support the idea that it can cure or prevent cancer. Moreover, limiting the intake of animal-based foods may lead to nutrient deficiencies, which can be especially problematic for cancer patients. Therefore, healthcare providers do not recommend this diet as a primary treatment for cancer.

DR KRISTINE NOLFI: is a naturopathic doctor who developed a natural cancer treatment diet that emphasizes the consumption of raw fruits and vegetables. This diet is based on the idea that raw fruits and vegetables contain enzymes and other nutrients that can help prevent and treat cancer. The diet also includes some cooked foods, such as whole grains, legumes, and lean protein sources.

While some research suggests that a diet high in fruits and vegetables may reduce the risk of cancer, there is no evidence to support the idea that raw fruits and vegetables are more beneficial than cooked ones. Moreover, a diet that is solely based on raw fruits and vegetables may be nutritionally inadequate and difficult to sustain. Therefore, healthcare providers do not recommend this diet as a primary treatment for cancer.

DR MAUDE TRESILLIAN FERE’S SELF-CURE: Dr. Maude Tresillian Fere was a physician who developed a natural cancer treatment diet based on the consumption of fresh fruit and vegetable juices. This diet is based on the idea that fresh juices can help detoxify the body and provide essential nutrients that can help prevent and treat cancer. The diet also includes some whole foods, such as whole grains and lean protein sources.

While some research suggests that a diet high in fruits and vegetables may reduce the risk of cancer, there is no evidence to support the idea that fresh juices are more beneficial than whole foods. Moreover, a diet that is solely based on fresh juices may be nutritionally inadequate and difficult to sustain. Therefore, healthcare providers do not recommend this diet as a primary treatment for cancer.

DR JOHANNA BUDWIG/FLAXSEED OIL & COTTAGE CHEESE (FOCC): Dr. Johanna Budwig was a German biochemist who developed the Flaxseed Oil and Cottage Cheese (FOCC) diet as a natural cancer treatment. This diet involves a combination of flaxseed oil and cottage cheese, which are believed to help improve the body’s ability to use oxygen, reduce inflammation, and prevent cancer growth. The diet also includes an emphasis on whole foods, such as fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, while avoiding processed foods, sugar, and animal products.

Despite some anecdotal evidence suggesting the FOCC diet may have some benefits for cancer patients, there is no scientific evidence to support its efficacy. Moreover, the FOCC diet may not provide adequate nutrition for cancer patients, and the use of flaxseed oil may be unsafe for some individuals, especially those on blood-thinning medications. Therefore, healthcare providers do not recommend this diet as a primary treatment for cancer.

DR MAX GERSON/GERSON THERAPY: Dr. Max Gerson developed the Gerson Therapy, a natural cancer treatment diet that involves consuming fresh juices made from organic fruits and vegetables, as well as a vegetarian diet and coffee enemas. The diet is based on the idea that fresh juices can help detoxify the body, while the coffee enemas help support liver function and eliminate toxins from the body. The Gerson Therapy also includes supplements, such as potassium, iodine, and thyroid hormones.

While some people with cancer have reported feeling better after following the Gerson Therapy, there is no scientific evidence to support its efficacy in treating cancer. Moreover, the therapy is difficult to follow and requires significant time and effort. The use of coffee enemas may also pose a risk of infection, and the high potassium content of the diet may be dangerous for people with certain medical conditions. Therefore, healthcare providers do not recommend this diet as a primary treatment for cancer.

DR MOERMAN’S ANTI-CANCER DIET: Dr. Moerman’s Anti-Cancer Diet is a natural cancer treatment diet that involves consuming a diet rich in fruits and vegetables, as well as whole grains and lean protein sources. The diet also emphasizes limiting the intake of sugar and processed foods. The theory behind this diet is that a diet rich in fruits and vegetables can provide essential nutrients that help prevent and treat cancer.

While some observational studies have suggested that a diet high in fruits and vegetables may reduce the risk of cancer, there is no evidence to support the idea that this diet can cure or prevent cancer. Moreover, the diet may not provide adequate nutrition for cancer patients, who often require additional calories and protein to support their treatment. Therefore, healthcare providers do not recommend this diet as a primary treatment for cancer.

DRIES CANCER DIET: The Dries Cancer Diet is a natural cancer treatment diet developed by Dr. Ernst T. Krebs Jr. and is based on the theory that cancer is caused by a deficiency in vitamin B17, which is found in the pits of certain fruits like apricots. The diet includes a focus on whole foods, such as fruits, vegetables, and lean protein sources, as well as the consumption of large amounts of vitamin B17 from apricot pits and other sources.

There is no scientific evidence to support the idea that vitamin B17 can prevent or treat cancer, and in fact, it can be harmful if consumed in large amounts. Consuming too much B17 can lead to cyanide poisoning, which can be fatal. Moreover, the Dries Cancer Diet may not provide adequate nutrition for cancer patients, who require additional calories and protein to support their treatment. Therefore, healthcare providers do not recommend this diet as a primary treatment for cancer.

FRUITARIAN DIET: The fruitarian diet is a type of raw vegan diet that consists of eating only fruits, nuts, and seeds. The diet is based on the belief that fruits contain all the nutrients the body needs to stay healthy and fight diseases like cancer. Fruits are rich in antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and fiber, which can help to prevent cancer by protecting the body against free radical damage, reducing inflammation, and boosting the immune system. However, the fruitarian diet has several drawbacks, including the risk of nutrient deficiencies, particularly protein and fat, which are essential for the body’s proper functioning. Additionally, some fruits are high in natural sugars, which can cause blood sugar imbalances and may not be suitable for people with certain medical conditions like diabetes. It is important to consult a qualified nutritionist or healthcare professional before starting a fruitarian diet to ensure that it is safe and appropriate for your individual needs.

HALLELUJAH ACRES DIET/ DR GEORGE MALKMUS: The Hallelujah Acres diet is a plant-based, vegan diet developed by Rev. George Malkmus in 1992. The diet is based on the biblical belief that humans should consume only plant-based foods, as outlined in Genesis 1:29. The diet consists of 85% raw and 15% cooked plant-based foods, including fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, and seeds. The Hallelujah Acres diet emphasizes the consumption of raw, living foods, which are rich in enzymes, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, and can help to prevent and treat cancer by boosting the immune system, reducing inflammation, and providing essential nutrients for the body. The diet also recommends the use of supplements like vitamin B12, omega-3 fatty acids, and probiotics to support overall health and well-being. While the Hallelujah Acres diet has not been scientifically proven to cure cancer, some studies suggest that it may have potential as a complementary therapy to conventional cancer treatments.

JOHANNA BRANDT GRAPE DIET/ WORTMAN GRAPE DIET: The Johanna Brandt grape diet, also known as the Wortman grape diet, is a grape-based, liquid diet developed by South African natural healer Johanna Brandt in the early 1900s. The diet involves drinking only freshly squeezed grape juice, water, and herbal teas for up to 21 days. The diet is believed to have cancer-fighting properties due to the high levels of antioxidants and nutrients found in grapes, which can help to boost the immune system, reduce inflammation, and detoxify the body. The grape diet is also believed to promote weight loss and improve overall health and well-being. While there is limited scientific evidence to support the effectiveness of the grape diet in treating cancer, some studies suggest that it may have potential as a complementary therapy to conventional cancer treatments. However, it is important to note that the grape diet is a restrictive and low-calorie diet and may not be appropriate for everyone. It is important to consult with a qualified healthcare professional before starting the grape diet or any other alternative cancer treatment.

MACROBIOTIC DIET/ZEN MACROBIOTICS: The macrobiotic diet, also known as Zen macrobiotics, is a plant-based diet that originated in Japan in the early 1900s. The diet is based on the principles of Zen Buddhism and emphasizes the consumption of whole, unprocessed foods, including grains, vegetables, beans, and seaweed. The macrobiotic diet is believed to have cancer-fighting properties due to its high nutrient density, which can help to boost the immune system, reduce inflammation, and provide essential nutrients for the body. The diet also emphasizes the balance of yin and yang, or the opposing forces of nature, which are believed to influence health and well-being. The macrobiotic diet has been used as a complementary therapy for cancer and other chronic illnesses, but its effectiveness has not been scientifically proven.

MUCUSLESS DIET HEALING SYSTEM/ARNOLD EHRET: The Mucusless Diet Healing System, created by Arnold Ehret, is a natural cancer treatment diet that aims to eliminate mucus-forming foods from the diet. The diet focuses on consuming foods that are easily digested by the body and encourages the intake of raw fruits and vegetables, as well as cooked whole grains and legumes. By eliminating mucus-forming foods, the diet aims to reduce inflammation in the body, which can be beneficial for cancer patients.

While there is limited research on the effectiveness of the Mucusless Diet Healing System for treating cancer, some studies have shown that a diet low in animal protein and high in fruits and vegetables may reduce the risk of developing certain types of cancer. Additionally, a plant-based diet has been associated with improved cancer outcomes and reduced risk of cancer recurrence. (Campbell, 2013; Zhang, 2017)

RAW FOOD DIET/DR. NORMAN WALKER/JAY KORDICH: The Raw Food Diet, also known as the Dr. Richardson Cancer Diet, is a natural cancer treatment diet that focuses on consuming raw, uncooked, and unprocessed foods. The diet aims to increase the intake of antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals, which are essential for supporting the immune system and fighting cancer cells. The Raw Food Diet also eliminates foods that may contribute to cancer growth, such as processed and refined foods, sugar, and animal products.

While there is limited scientific evidence on the effectiveness of the Raw Food Diet for treating cancer, some studies suggest that a plant-based diet may reduce the risk of developing certain types of cancer and may improve cancer outcomes. However, it is important to note that a raw food diet can be challenging to follow and may not provide all the necessary nutrients for cancer patients. Therefore, it is recommended that patients consult with a healthcare professional before starting this diet. (Melina et al., 2016; Li et al., 2017)

RUDOLF BREUSS/THE BREUSS CANCER CURE: The Breuss Cancer Cure, created by Rudolf Breuss, is a natural cancer treatment diet that involves consuming only vegetable juices and herbal teas for a period of 42 days. The diet aims to starve cancer cells by eliminating solid food from the diet, while providing the body with essential vitamins and minerals through the vegetable juices. The diet also includes a mixture of herbal teas, which are believed to support the immune system and aid in cancer treatment.

While there is limited scientific evidence on the effectiveness of the Breuss Cancer Cure for treating cancer, some studies suggest that vegetable juices may have anticancer properties and may improve cancer outcomes. However, it is important to note that this diet can be challenging to follow and may not provide all the necessary nutrients for cancer patients. Therefore, it is recommended that patients consult with a healthcare professional before starting this diet. (Chen et al., 2014; Crowe et al., 2014)
