Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • Red clover (Trifolium pratense) blossoms: 2 tablespoons
  • Turmeric (Curcuma longa) powder: 1 teaspoon
  • Astragalus (Astragalus membranaceus) root: 1 tablespoon
  • Water: 2 cups

Instructions:

  1. Add the red clover blossoms, turmeric powder, and astragalus root to a pot.
  2. Pour the water into the pot and bring it to a boil.
  3. Reduce the heat and let the mixture simmer for 15-20 minutes.
  4. Strain the liquid and consume 1 cup of the herbal tea twice daily.

Ayurvedic Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • Triphala powder: 1 teaspoon
  • Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) powder: 1 teaspoon
  • Aloe vera juice: 2 tablespoons
  • Honey: 1 teaspoon

Instructions:

  1. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl to form a paste-like consistency.
  2. Consume this mixture once daily in the morning on an empty stomach.
  3. Continue this regimen for several months, consulting with an Ayurvedic practitioner for guidance.

African Herbal Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • African potato (Hypoxis hemerocallidea) rhizome powder: 1 tablespoon
  • Sutherlandia (Lessertia frutescens) leaves: 1 tablespoon
  • Red clover (Trifolium pratense) blossoms: 1 tablespoon
  • Water: 2 cups

Instructions:

  1. Add the African potato rhizome powder, Sutherlandia leaves, and red clover blossoms to a pot.
  2. Pour the water into the pot and bring it to a boil.

Topical Treatments

  1. Tea Tree Oil and Aloe Vera Gel Blend:

Tea tree oil is known for its antimicrobial properties, while aloe vera gel has soothing and anti-inflammatory effects. This blend can be applied topically to help reduce inflammation and prevent infection.

Ingredients:

  • 5-7 drops of tea tree oil
  • 1 tablespoon of aloe vera gel

Instructions:

  1. Wash your hands thoroughly before preparing the mixture.
  2. In a clean container, combine the tea tree oil and aloe vera gel.
  3. Mix well until the ingredients are thoroughly blended.
  4. Cleanse the affected area with mild soap and water.
  5. Apply a small amount of the tea tree oil and aloe vera gel blend directly to the cyst.
  6. Gently massage the mixture into the skin surrounding the cyst.
  7. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes.
  8. Rinse off with lukewarm water and pat dry.
  9. Repeat the application 2-3 times a day or as recommended by your healthcare professional.

Note: Tea tree oil can cause skin irritation in some individuals. If you experience any adverse reactions, discontinue use and consult with a healthcare professional.

  1. Turmeric Paste:

Turmeric possesses anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties that may aid in reducing inflammation and preventing infection in cysts.

Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • 1-2 teaspoons of water or coconut oil (to form a paste)

Instructions:

  1. Wash your hands thoroughly before preparing the paste.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the turmeric powder with water or coconut oil to create a thick paste.
  3. Cleanse the affected area with mild soap and water.
  4. Apply a thin layer of the turmeric paste directly to the cyst.
  5. Allow it to dry for 15-20 minutes.
  6. Rinse off with lukewarm water and pat dry.
  7. Repeat the application 1-2 times a day or as recommended by your healthcare professional.

Note: Turmeric has a vibrant yellow color that can stain clothing and skin temporarily. Take care to avoid contact with fabric and be cautious if using on visible areas of the body.

Urinary Infections

Herbs: Buchu (Barosma betulina), cornsilk (Zea mays), marshmallow (Althaea officinalis)

Remedy: Make an infusion with 5 g of each herb to 3 cups (750 ml) of water. Divide into 4 doses and drink throughout the day.

Option: Substitute juniper (Juniperus communis) or goldenrod (Solidago virgaurea) for buchu.


Herb: Bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus)

Remedy: Make a decoction of the berries and drink 1 2/3–2 1/3 cups (450–600 ml) a day.
Tip: Cranberry juice may be substituted for bilberry decoction.

Herbs: Garlic (Allium sativum), echinacea (Echinacea spp.)

Remedy: Take either or both herbs in capsule or tablet form.

Note: Take in addition to other remedies.
Caution: Do not take juniper or buchu during pregnancy.

Neuralgia

General Remedies
Herbs: St. John’s wort (Hypericum perforatum), lavender (Lavandula officinalis), clove (Eugenia caryophyllata)

Remedy: Apply neat St. John’s wort infused oil to painful areas, or add 20 drops each of clove and lavender essential oil to 2 tbsp plus 2 tsp (50 ml) of St. John’s wort infused oil and then apply every 2–3 hours as required.

Herb: Peppermint (Mentha x piperita)

Remedy: Make an infusion with 25 g of herb to 3 cups (750 ml) of water and bathe the affected area. Alternatively, dilute 20 drops of essential oil in 2 tbsp plus 2 tsp (50 ml) of carrier oil and gently massage into the painful area.

Caution: Do not use on children under 5.

Remedy: Mix 1⁄2 tsp of powder with water to make a thick paste and apply to the head.

Toothache
Herb: Clove (Eugenia caryophyllata)
Remedy: Chew a clove or rub 1–2 drops of neat essential oil onto the affected tooth 2–3 times a day for up to 3 days.
